Communications and Posters

The deadline for submissionsof abstracts and posters is 23th March, 2018 through the Course Secretariat (c.lazaro@bnyco.com)

Guidelines for the submission of oral communications

The first author of the abstract submitted for assessment by the scientific committee should be registered for the Course so that the communication is accepted. The first author will be responsible for its presentation in the Course. Residents in their first or second year of residence at the time of the presentation will not be accepted. We highly recommend residents in their fifth year of Plastic Surgery at national level, to submit presentations. A specific conference table may be arranged during the celebration of the Course.

Communications shall last 5 minutes.

The abstract, the oral presentation and the text in the slides of the presentation should all be entirely in Spanish, except for bibliographical references and tables and images taken from publications in another language. Works previously published or presented inother conferences or courses are not acceptable.

Oral communications shall never relate to an isolated clinical case. Priority will be given to original works, which could be included in main sessions if the Scientific Committee deems it appropriate.

Drafting

  1. Title
The title must be written in CAPITAL LETTERS.
  2. Authors
The names of the authors shall be written in full in the following order: Name 1st Surname 2nd Surname.
  3. Text
Abstracts shall not exceed 300 words and shall include the following sections: objective, methods, results and conclusions. Bibliographical references within the body of the text shall be made by means of numbers in parentheses following the order of appearance. At the end of the paper, a maximum of 5 references shall be included following the Vancouver model.

  4. For the anonymous assessment of abstracts by the scientific committee, each of the following aspects shall be assessed on a scale of 5: clarity of objectives, defined methodology, clarity of results, consistency of conclusions with proposed objectives and interest of the study. In order for a work to be positively accepted for its presentation, it shall achieve an average of 2.5.

Following this evaluation, the 15 best communications shall be accepted for their presentation. The maximum number of communications allowed shall not exceed 15. Due to the limited time of the course, we highly recommend the additional submission of a poster, since this format has no limitation.

Oral communications may be incorporated to main sessions if they are of sufficient quality, and must refer to eyelid orbit surgery.

The first author shall be informed of the receipt of the abstract and the resolution of the scientific committee by mail. Date and timestamp allotted for presentation shall be reported. Communications shall be submitted together with supporting images and text in Microsoft Power Point or Keynote. Slides and overhead transparencies shall not be accepted.

Guidelines for the submission of Posters

Posters shall be placed on boards. You are kindly requested to bring your printed poster with you to the Course.

Once the poster has been accepted by the Scientific Committee, the first author shall be notified the acceptance by e-mail, providing a password to access the system.

Posters may be placed as from 31st May at 15:00.

The first author of the abstract submitted for assessment by the Scientific Committee shall be registered for the work to be accepted. A maximum of 3 poster-type communications can be submitted as first author and he will be responsible for its presentation in the Conference before an Evaluation Committee appointed by the Organisation. A specific space for these purpose will be devoted during the Conference.

The abstract and its writing on the poster, as well as its oral presentation, if appropriate, shall be addressed entirely in Spanish, with the exception of bibliographical references and tables and images taken from publications in another language.

The abstract of the work shall be presented taking care of the spelling and syntax, with due respect to the members of the scientific committee. The Committee shall not perform any correction. Failure to comply with these aspects or those referred to the structure of the abstract, as detailed below, may lead to a non-acceptance of the communication.
